Animal Care Attendant

Rescue Village is seeking an individual to join our animal care staff.  F/T or P/T. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Educating adopters about animals and their proper care.

  • Handling, care, and cleaning of cats, dogs, and small animals. 

  • Doing laundry, cleaning dishes, floors, windows, crates, etc.

Individual must enjoy working as part of a team and interacting with the public and volunteers.  Individual must be self-motivated, honest, and responsible.  Must be able to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.  Knowledge of animal behavior and experience working with shelter dogs with positive reinforcement is desired.  The rate of pay is based on experience.  Weekends and holidays required.  For consideration, please send resume and cover letter to: sheltermgr@geaugahumane.org


Offsite Adoption Event Associate

Reports to: Marketing and Events Coordinator

Schedule: Part-time, seasonal.  April 1st to October 31st.  Approximately 10 hours per week

Rate of Pay:DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate offsite adoption and outreach events with the Volunteer Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, and the Shelter Manager
  • Recruit and schedule volunteers for the events

  • Prepare and gather all marketing, outreach, and adoption materials for the events

  • Assist with transport of materials and animals to and from adoption events

  • Assist with setting up and breaking down at events

  • Attend and coordinate adoption events; act as an adoption counselor when needed

  • Take responsibility for all monies received or expended at events

  • Provide feedback on how events went and how they can be improved in the future

Qualifications:

  • Must be well organized, responsible, and outgoing

  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of volunteers and staff

  • Must be able to represent Rescue Village to the community with a positive, professional demeanor

  • Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable car with insurance

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely handle animals

  • Must be able to work weekends
