what you can do

be a voice for the animals
Animals cannot speak for themselves when they are being treated badly. They cannot hire attorneys to defend them or lobbyists to press their case with lawmakers.

Animals need you to be a voice advocating for their safety and well-being. People who care about animals can take action in many ways.

learn about the link
Studies show that there is a link between animal abuse and other types of violence towards humans. Animal abuse does not just hurt animals; it hurts us all. Working to end animal abuse will help end the cycle of violence.

know your legislators
Know who represents you on the local, state, and national level and contact them when you want to voice your support or concern about legislation affecting animals. Find out about pending legislation in Ohio or find your elected representatives.

write a letter to the editor about an animal issue
A letter in your local paper is a great way to speak out and educate the community on issues that concern animals.

speak out at public hearings
Attend public governmental meetings when animal-related issues are being discussed or ask to have humane treatment of animals put on the agenda.

protect the animals around you
If you witness or suspect animal abuse or neglect, contact our Humane Agent.

volunteer at and support rescue village
Rescue Village relies on its volunteers and the generosity of its community. Help us to continue to advocate for the animals.
