Rescue Village Cancels Recycling Event

We embarked on this project because we felt it would raise needed funds to help homeless animals while doing something good for the planet.  Although we did extensive research into the recycling company, earlier this month we learned information which led us to conclude that working with this  company is not in keeping with our goals and mission.  Specifically, the company is being investigated by the EPA and has a poor payment history.

Rescue Village hoped to raise $10,000 from the recycling effort to fund its adoption, education, humane law, and population control programs. When we read the newspaper article from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09154/974592-58.stm)  and received calls alleging unsafe recycling and failure to pay its clients, we decided to drop our project with EarthEcycle. I hope that the public safely recycles their electronics and considers donating to Rescue Village to help carry through our work during the summer months.

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused and will surely need your help in other projects coming down the road!

For questions, call Katrina at 440-338-4819 ext. 40.

Come shake off the winter cold with an evening of art, wine, and sumptuous soup to benefit the animals at Rescue Village!  Your bowls will stay full so theirs will too.

Pay $65 ($105 patron) and select your very own hand-decorated bowl.  Enjoy all the soup and chili you can eat, which has been donated by some of the area's finest restaurants.  Then, take part in a silent auction of art, jewelry and sports memorabilia and a live auction of bowls designed by some of your favorite celebrities.

Empty Bowls 2008 raised a record $65,000 to benefit the animals of Rescue Village. Join us to meet that goal once again this year.
