Kranz Family Celebration Garden

Thank you to Kranz Family Foundation for the generous grant that completely funded the Rescue Village Kranz Family Celebration Garden. The new garden will further our mission by celebrating the human-animal bond.

"We have hoped and dreamed of being able to put in this type of garden for several years. The compassion of Betty M. Kranz, now deceased, and the generosity of The Kranz Family Foundation have made that dream come true, allowing us to help our supporters express the need to recognize their pets as members of their families," according to Geauga Humane Society's former Executive Director, Sharon Harvey.

Dana Eppley, a friend of Betty Kranz and a Trustee of the Kranz Family Foundation told us, "Betty loved Rescue Village and its mission. We often visited Rescue Village, as it was one of her favorite things to do. This garden will represent everything Betty would have hoped for in memorializing her strong commitment to raising awareness of and caring for animals. I wish Betty were still with us to see this dream come true, but I am certain that she is watching over the whole project."

Designed by award-winning landscaping firm, DTR Associates, the 4,500 square foot garden evokes

a wide range of experiences and emotions from tranquility and contemplation to frolic and joy. An official opening celebration was held in June 2007.

You are invited to help support Geauga Humane Society's Rescue Village by purchasing naming rights for a wide array of features in the garden that will honor or memorialize the lives of pets or people that have touched your life.
