education
programs
At Rescue Village we are guided by an
ethic of compassion. Our Humane Education department recognizes
that the kids of today are the animal guardians of tomorrow.
We also know that children and adults who learn to extend
kindness and care towards animals are more likely to treat
other people with respect.
All
of our education programs are designed to foster values of
respect, compassion, and a reverence for life. The interactive
lessons we teach were developed in conjunction with the Humane
Society of the United States, the American
Humane Society, and the ASPCA.
Rescue Village offers educational programs
to individuals as well as civic, community, professional,
and school groups.
outreach programs
Call to arrange a visit to your school
classrooms, senior centers, libraries, or other interested
groups. All programs are designed to foster values of respect,
compassion and reverence for life that will make the world
a better place for both humans and animals. Visits will address
pet care, animal body language, bite prevention, choosing
the right pet, treating all animals with respect, and other
animal welfare-related subjects. Programs are presented by
an experienced classroom teacher, animal welfare professionals,
or trained volunteers. Certified therapy animals often accompany
the presenter, and talks can be tailored to your interests.
